Palatine Park District presents Adult Battle of the Bands, Monday, July 22 from 7:00pm-9:00pm at Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 256 E. Palatine Road.
The competition features four bands with a variety of musical styles. American BBC covers the classic music of British Invasion and American Rock and Roll from the 1960’s and early 1970’s. Orange Groove features blues, rock, and southern rock spanning the decades. Orange Groove blends guitar driven rock, and four part vocal harmonies. This six piece band covers favorites from “Before He Cheats” to “Brown Eyed Girl”. Fern brings funk with jazz, soul, and rock influences, featuring Chicago’s emerging funkadelic force, and Old School leads listeners to dive back into the Rock and Roll classics from the 1970’s through the 1990’s.
“I love offering this event to the community,” said Ashley Schiavone, Palatine Park District’s Cultural Arts Coordinator. “It brings out bands that many haven’t heard of, and they are all at a professional level,” she added. “The fast pace of the night makes the event exciting, as well as the variety of styles this year.”
