Experience “Cars 3” from behind the wheel of your own creativity at Birchwood Recreation Center, 435 W. Illinois Avenue, in Palatine next Friday. Indoor Drive-In Movie is an event for the whole family that will be held on Friday, March 2 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Each family supplies their own cardboard box for each child to create a vehicle they can sit in to enjoy Disney Pixar’s “Cars 3.”
While families may bring their own decorations, Palatine Park District will provide goody bags full of decorative materials. Paint and permanent markers will not be allowed. Car designing will begin at 6:00pm, followed by the feature presentation screening at 7:00pm. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs to view the movie. Concessions including pizza, popcorn, candy, water, and pop will be available for purchase. Outside food is not permitted.
“We thought it was awesome,” said Palatine resident Alicia Butter about last year’s event in a post-event survey. “So fun!”
Registration is $5.00 per child and $1.00 per adult 18 and over – children under one are free. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Registration may be completed in person at Community Center, Birchwood Recreation Center, Falcon Park Recreation Center, or online. Registration deadline is Wednesday, February 28 at 7:00pm. Regardless of age, all participants, including adults and children under 1, must be registered.
