Coast into “Hotel Transylvania 3” by the cut of your jib in your very own sail boat at Birchwood Recreation Center, 435 W. Illinois Avenue, Palatine, on Friday, March 1. Indoor Sail Away Movie is an event for the whole family from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Each family supplies their own cardboard box for each child to create a boat they can “float” in to enjoy “Hotel Transylvania 3.”
While families may bring their own decorations, Palatine Park District will provide goody bags full of decorative materials. Paint and permanent markers will not be allowed. Boat designing will begin at 6:00pm, followed by the feature presentation screening at 7:00pm. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs to view the movie. Concessions including pizza, popcorn, candy, water, and pop will be available for purchase. Outside food is not permitted.
Registration is $5.00 per child and $1.00 per adult 18 and over – children under one are free. Space is limited and pre-registration is required by Wednesday, February 27 at 7:00pm. Registration may be completed in person at Community Center, Birchwood Recreation Center, Falcon Park Recreation Center, or online at register.palatineparks.org. Regardless of age, all participants, including adults and children under 1, must be registered.
“We look forward to this event every year,” said Palatine resident and attendee Susan Stauffer. “Nice movie selection. Nice selection of materials for the kids. Fun event, well organized, and friendly staff. Great value for the money.”
