Palatine Dance | Ages 6+
For 30 years, Palatine Park District has been offering top rated dance instruction with the most affordable prices. Training students from ages 5 through adult, Palatine Dance continues to produce some of the most well rounded dancers with experience in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, and hip hop. Music
Palatine Children’s Chorus | Ages 4-18
Palatine Children’s Chorus (or PCC) welcomes all children ages 4–18 who love to sing! Singers are invited to enjoy a variety of musical experiences in the Sing with Me (ages 4-5), Do Re Mi (ages 6-7), Treble (ages 8+), Intermezzo, Concert, and Honors Choirs. PCC safely nurtures children’s voices, introduces all age groups to a variety of music, and offers each level appropriate, safe vocal instruction and music education. Their traveling choirs have performed all around the world, as well as locally for the Chicago Cubs, White Sox, and Joffrey Ballet. Allegro Community Chorus | Ages 18+
Allegro Community Chorus is an all adult group with weekly rehearsals in the Community Center music room. The chorus welcomes experienced singers, as well as those with limited choral experience. Allegro performs a wide variety of music: from ballads, blues and Broadway to jazz, pop and classical. Solo and small group opportunities may also encourage musical growth. Allegro performs two performances each year at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center in Fall and Spring, and one summer performance at Fred P. Hall Amphitheater.
Battle of the Bands | Ages 12+
Palatine Park District hosts two Battle of the Bands special events each summer: Teen Battle of the Bands (ages 12-20) and Adult Battle of the Bands (ages 18+). For more information about how to apply as a participant, click here.
Theatre
Showstarters Youth Theatre | Ages 5-7
Showstarters is an introduction to theatre for our youngest actors. This class consists of a 20-minute musical for primary grades, featuring original songs in a variety of musical styles, easy rhyming dialog, choreography, staging, and costume ideas.
Rising Stars Youth Theatre | Ages 8-11
Rising Stars welcomes young, aspiring actors to work on developing basic acting skills such as creative expression, clarity, projections, basic blocking, memorization, and script management. All of the work done in class will culminate in a performance complete with costumes, sets, and lights at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center.
Broadway Bound Youth Theatre | Ages 11-18
Broadway Bound is for aspiring actors to work on developing their craft and prepare for middle and high school theatre. In each class we will focus on acting, movement, theater games, and scene study. All of the work done in class will culminate in a performance complete with costumes, sets and lights at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center.
Family Friendly Theatre | Ages 18+
Family Friendly Theatre productions offer a convenient local option for introducing children to the theatrical experience. Casts are made up of local actors in the community over the age of 18. Productions include both classic and original works designed for children. Shows are usually 60 minutes and are offered seasonally at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center.
