Responsibilities: Box Office Manager is a customer service, data management, and accounting position at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center. As well as being fully trained and operational with the Box Office Concierge position, the Box Office Manager shall be responsible for assisting patrons with special needs and desires, process refunds to patrons when necessary, collecting data from Park District programs and rentals for box office ticketing and social media sites, maintaining and keeping ticketing site up to date with current and future events, processing weekly payout and check disbursement reports, processing adjusting journal entries for Park District programs, processing weekly subscription season summary reports, processing monthly revenue reports, compiling ticket sales data for end of show reports, keeping weekly log of ticket fee expenses and order fee income, deliver cash/check deposits to Registrar at Community Center, build and order seasonal brochure for patrons detailing upcoming events, keep lobby literature rack clean and organized, maintain theatre marquee schedule and keep up to date, collect information for Park District seasonal catalog and submit events in the facility, build comp code reports upon event producer’s request, maintain box office concierge schedule, organize concierge timesheets and prepare for processing, build event pricing structure in ticketing software, build coupon codes for pricing discounts at producer’s request, process Event Information Forms when received from producers, update and send out monthly e-newsletter to subscribers, supervising concierges and keeping them up to date with information on new programs and events so that they may best serve guests of the performing arts center. Box Office Manager position is a part-time, year-round position reporting to the Theatre Coordinator.
Qualifications: College degree with theatre related fields preferred, but not required. At least High School diploma and two (2) years experience in customer service or related field recommended, but not required. Ability to self-direct, multi-task, troubleshoot, problem solve, follow directions, meet deadlines and effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ticketing system requires basic knowledge and comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet. Ability to resolve differences and situations that arise with patrons and work together with other Park District employees. Ability to multi-task and attention to detail essential. Knowledge of working with Microsoft Excel and Word, social networking, website maintenance is preferred. Successful criminal background check and drug screen prior to employment. Attain valid adult CPR/AED certification within six (6) months of employment and maintain throughout employment.
