We encourage families and friends to explore their hometown and discover things about Palatine they may have never known.
Colleen Palmer, Assistant Superintendent of RecreationAlthough we have all dealt with changes throughout the year, Palatine Park District still wants to host a special event to commemorate this momentous 75 years of service milestone. Palatine Park District is very proud of the journey we have taken through our 75-year lifespan and are humbled to be able to serve the Palatine community with recreation opportunities, first-class facilities, and open spaces that highlight our beautiful community. To honor these parks and facilities we have decided to host a community-wide Park Quest.
On September 26, 2020, Palatine Park District will test your knowledge of the town, your puzzle solving abilities, and help motivate you to get out of the house in a safe environment. The Park Quest will begin at 10:00am with plans to have all teams finish by 1:00pm. Teams will consist of individual cars as they try to navigate clues and activities on their way to the finish line. Registration is now open for cars to compete in this one-time event. Registration cost is $10 per vehicle and is limited to forty vehicles, so make sure you register today! Every team that successfully navigates the course will earn a prize pack for their participation and be entered into the 75th Anniversary grand prize drawing for an outdoor movie projector and outdoor movie screen. On your journey, you will visit prominent locations that showcase Palatine Park District amenities, both old and new. “We encourage families and friends to explore their hometown and discover things about Palatine they may have never known,” said Assistant Superintendent of Recreation Colleen Palmer. “It’s a great way to spend a day outside this fall.”
