Palatine Children’s Chorus invites the community to attend their spring concert, To Dream on a Cloud, on Saturday, May 4 at 2:00pm. This year’s performance will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 200 N. Plum Grove Road, Palatine. Highlighted performance selections will include “The Storm is Passing Over,” “The Little Birch Tree,” “Blue Skies,” and “I Am Going Home on a Cloud.”
“All five of our choirs with ages ranging from 6-18 will be performing great springtime music,” said Artistic Director Stevee Bellas. “We hope audiences will be delighted with thoughts of springtime, blue skies with white puffy clouds, and all that your mind can dream.”
The goal of Palatine Children’s Chorus is to nurture and inspire student achievement through quality music education and the pursuit of artistic excellence in choral music performance. The chorus leadership envisions a future where excellence in choral singing is valued and supported for all children in the community – bridging cultures, ethnicities, and economic backgrounds.
This year’s spring concert will recognize the chorus’ class of 2019, seniors Sydney Shiffman and Zoe Vukelich. After a combined 10 years of singing with the chorus, Shiffman and Vukelich will be graduating high school and preparing to attend out-of-state universities.
Concert tickets are $10 in advance for adults and seniors, and $8 for students and children. Ticket prices increase by $2 for purchases at the door up to one hour before the performance. Children under the age of 5 will be admitted at no charge. To purchase tickets online, visit cuttinghall.org.
Summer choral opportunities will be offered for new and returning singers through the chorus’ Sing With Me (ages 4-5), Singin’ in the Sun (ages 6-12), and Summer Concert Choir Intensive (ages 12-18) programs. To register online for these classes, visit register.palatineparks.org.
Those interested in joining the Palatine Children’s Chorus family for the 2019 fall session are invited to attend a free Welcome Night at Palatine Park District Community Center, 250 E. Wood Street, Palatine on either Monday, August 19 or Wednesday, August 21 at 6:30pm.
