“Our youth basketball program allows girls and boys from grades first through eighth, the opportunity to participate in a fun, competitive, and instructional basketball league,” said Kyler Hunter, Palatine Park District’s Basketball Coordinator. “We have dedicated, motivated coaches volunteering their time to develop participants’ fundamentals, while making sure they are having fun. Each player has equal playing time, so every child has an identical opportunity to succeed and have fun,” Hunter added.

According to JP McNamara, Palatine Park District Community Outreach Coordinator, Ziegler Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Schaumburg is sponsoring the Palatine Park District’s youth basketball program. “It is a great opportunity for children to learn the fundamentals and life lessons that sports provide,” a Ziegler representative commented. “We wish everyone good luck on a great basketball season!”

Registration for High School Basketball Leagues is currently underway through November 2. These leagues are designed to offer league play to high school students who are not participating on a team at their high schools. Players on high school teams are ineligible to participate. Games will be played on Sundays, at Birchwood Recreation Center and Community Center, beginning December 1. Teams will play a ten-game season and a single elimination tournament.
