Parent & Tot Programs at Palatine Park District

Quick Links

Athletics Programs Cultural Arts Programs Early Childhood Programs Gymnastics Programs Preschool Programs

Palatine Park District’s Parent & Tot programming for ages 5 and under consists of various classes designed to foster development in children and provide an environment where parents can bond with their tot through activities with others. Instructors can provide skills through these activities that parents can model at home. See Early Childhood for ages 3-6 classes where parents do not remain in the classroom.

Adult Participation Required

All Parent & Tot classes require an adult to participate with the child. Unregistered siblings may not participate and may remain in the classroom only if they can occupy themselves quietly without interfering with your ability to participate with your child.

Stories and Scribbles | Age 2-3.5
Have fun with you child as you introduce them to the wonderful world of books. Each class there will be a different book along with an art activity relating to the story.

Wiggle, Giggle & Shake | Age 16-24 Months
This class will include a variety of musical activities to get you and your child up and moving. Each class will combine motor activities with silly songs, nursery rhymes, musical instruments and parachute play. This class will have you wiggling and giggling along with your child.

Sports

Adult & Tot Multi Sports Mani | Age 2-3
Each week adults will assist their tots as they play different sport, improve listening skills, and learn how to follow directions. A variety of sports such as soccer, basketball, and kickball will be explored through fun games and partner play. This is a great opportunity to get active with your child in a positive and controlled setting.

Adult & Tot Soccer | Age 2-3
Adults will enjoy time with their toddlers learning basic soccer skills including dribbling, passing, and shooting. Age appropriate drills, games, and equipment will be used. Tots will also develop motor, listening and social skills. Bring a labeled water bottle.

Adult & Tot Tumbling and Rhythmic Gymnastics | Age 2-3
Bond with your child as you help them develop coordination, flexibility, balance and self-confidence while learning rolls, jumps and other tumbling exercises. Skill circuits and activity stations introduce a wide range of movements and positions. Toddlers also use balls, hoops and ribbons to try simple rhythmic gymnastics movements that stimulate growing muscles and build concentration. We place a strong emphasis on socialization skills and parent involvement.
