Playgrounds Now Open
After receiving confirmation from Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD), the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has advised that “units of local government are provided the discretion to determine if outdoor playgrounds can open; the playground should be limited to no more than 50 persons at a time and individuals should follow social distancing guidance at all times”.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Are you disinfecting or monitoring the playgrounds?
With over 30 playground locations, we do not have the resources to monitor and clean the equipment after every visit. Visitors must take the proper precautions if they decide to visit the playgrounds. Personal safety and hygiene recommendations have not changed: face coverings, social distancing, and utilizing hand sanitizer should be followed.
Why is there still tape at my park?
Our parks crew is working as quickly and as safely as we can. With over 30 playgrounds to open, we are striving to have them all open as soon as possible.
