The 39th annual Palatine Park District Turkey Trot will take place on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 28 at Health and Recreation Center on the Harper College campus, 1100 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine. Turkey Trot includes a 2-mile run at 8:30am, a 5-mile run at 9:00am, and a Drumstick Dash for children up to age 10 starting at 10:00am. Pre-registration will be accepted through Thursday, November 21 at 7:00pm.
All participants who are pre-registered before November 21 at 7:00pm will receive an Xtreme Tek long sleeve shirt. Goody bags with information and products from event sponsors will be given to the first 2,000 registered runners. All runners will receive medals and the top finishers will receive additional awards. The pre-registration entry fee is $25.00 through 7:00pm on November 21 and the fee is $30.00 on the day of the race.
Registration is accepted online, or in person at Birchwood Recreation Center (435 W. Illinois Avenue, Palatine), Community Center (250 E. Wood Street, Palatine), or Falcon Park Recreation Center (2195 N. Hicks Road, Palatine). Once the pre-registration deadline has passed, registration will not be accepted until the day of the race at Health and Recreation Center beginning at 7:15am.
Family discounts are also available if two family members pay full race fee; all remaining family members pay $20 each for pre-registration only. All family members must reside in the same household. Family registration fees must be submitted at the same time and paid using one check or credit card. These registrations are final at the time of payment.
Packet Pick-up will be offered prior to the race exclusively at Birchwood Recreation Center. Pick-up dates and times will be on Tuesday, November 26 from 8:30am to 8:00pm and on Wednesday, November 27, from 8:30am to 7:00pm. Packets can also be picked up on race day at Health and Recreation Center on the Harper College campus. Day of event registrants will receive an Xtreme Tek long sleeve shirt and goody bag while supplies last.
This year’s Turkey Trot has been enhanced through partnerships with a variety of community businesses including the Turkey Trot presenting sponsor Grade Power Learning of Palatine and the Drumstick Dash presenting sponsor Fifth Third Bank. The following gold level sponsors have also contributed to the event’s success including, Daily Herald Media Group, European Therapy Center Ltd, Northwest Community Healthcare, Palatine Bank and Trust, and Running Iron Performance. Post-race refreshments are provided by Jewel-Osco of Palatine – Plum Grove Road.
