Palatine Park District has continued to expand its program offerings moving into September. Art in the Park is a new community engagement project geared to have families build and decorate a birdhouse that will then be displayed in the center of town! Participants can register to pick up a free family birdhouse kit at the Community Center starting September 1. Kits will be available until September 8, or when inventory runs out.
Birdhouses returned to the Community Center by September 15 will be entered into our contest and displayed in the trees at Towne Square! The decorative birdhouses will be part of an “Art in the Park” display leading up to the Park District’s 75 Anniversary on September 26. “We look forward to seeing people’s creativity … [we] want to create an art destination, right here in Palatine” said Lisa Swan, Cultural Art Coordinator at Palatine Park District.
