How old must I be to volunteer?
Volunteers of all ages are welcome. Any volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parental signature to volunteer. Volunteers up to 8th grade should be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.
What is the Volunteer time commitment?
This is up to each individual. Some volunteers may wish to volunteer in the same capacity on a regular basis for a period of time, such as one day a week. Others may find that volunteering for special events fits their schedule.

Volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to special events, programs, environmental care, office assistance, photography/videography, cultural arts, Spanish translation, athletics, ICompete, stable maintenance, and more. Can I bring a friend with me to volunteer?
Yes, we encourage volunteers to invite friends and family to participate in the Palatine Park District Volunteer TREE Program. All volunteers must complete their own volunteer application form and must also complete the on boarding process. In addition, each role must be filled with a separate individual – volunteers cannot use their own name to sign up for extra spaces for additional people.
What do I wear while I am volunteering at a Park District event?
Please wear your complimentary Palatine Park District volunteer t-shirt and pants/shorts of appropriate length and without holes. Occasionally you will be asked to wear protective clothing. Closed-toed shoes are required.
How do I find out if an event is cancelled?
Volunteers will be contacted by the event coordinator or volunteer coordinator as soon as event updates or changes are determined. Volunteers will also be provided with event day contact information prior to event day.
