Legacy Tributes

The Legacy Tribute Program allows individuals to honor loved ones by planting a tree or placing a bench in a Palatine Park District Park.

Please note: Legacy Tribute requests are closed for 2026. Any requests made at this time will be planned for the 2027 season.

After your form is submitted, a staff member will contact you regarding details and payment options.

Please note: All bench and tree orders will be installed during the Fall season. Prices are subject to change.

Legacy Tree General Information

• Location will be coordinated with the Parks Department
• Size will fall between 2-2.5” trunk diameter
• Purchased from a wholesale nursery
• Trees are watered with a gator bag. Frequency that bags are filled is based on weather conditions, such as rainfall and heat as well as location and type of tree
• New trees are not fertilized as this can cause damage to a young tree
• Trees are guaranteed from the Park District for one year after planting date
• Any concerns or questions regarding a newly planted tree should be promptly directed to the Parks Department for appropriate attention. Any unauthorized work being performed to a new tree will void the one-year warranty provided by the Park District.
