Our mission is to provide a variety of safe, enjoyable and affordable parks, programs and recreational facilities that will enhance the quality of life by promoting good health and well-being for all residents and visitors while being fiscally responsible stewards of community assets and tax dollars.
In an effort to keep our parks and facilities accessible and safe for all residents, and to accommodate the needs of the community, various construction projects are necessary from time to time. Below are the construction projects currently underway.
August - September 2017
Beginning Monday, August 21 the concrete areas of the Community Center Shelf and Track area will have a poured-in-place flooring system installed. The project is expected to be completed by Friday, September 15. [More Information]
Health and Recreation Center – Building M
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on April 10 at Harper College to celebrate the intergovernmental partnership between Harper College, Northwest Community Hospital, and Palatine Park District. [More Information]
Palatine Hills Golf Course
Culvert project completed. Next phase will include installation of new gate and pillars.
Board of Park Commissioners approves lowest responsible bidder for the Golf Course front entrance drive culvert replacement. The project involves removing and replacing the two 36” round metal culverts with a 3’ high by 5’ wide concrete box culvert with related erosion control on either end of culvert. A pedestrian sidewalk will be part of the project as well.
Chickadee Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 8 at 6:00pm.
Tom T. Hamilton Reservoir & Ron Gbur Sports Fields
Fencing has been removed. Playground is now open for use.
New rubberized safety surfacing has been installed. When this process is completed the construction fencing will be removed and that is when the playground will be available for use.
Renovation of the Tom T. Hamilton playground begins. When completed this will be Palatine Park District's most accessible playground. The new equipment is in and although the playground looks ready for use it is still closed for construction. The safety surfacing has not been installed and residents are cautioned to keep out of the construction area.
