Palatine Pack Partners with Palatine Park District as New Nonprofit Affiliate This Summer

June 1, 2021

Palatine Pack will offer new competition club for 6th-8th grades along with the same track and field camps that the Park District has offered for years – just under a new name.

This summer, Palatine Park District partners with Palatine Pack Community TFCC (Track, Field, Cross Country Club) as their new 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliate. Palatine Pack TFCC will combine multiple existing Palatine Park District programs under one broader organization including: Early Bird Running Program, Youth Track and Field Camp, and Palatine Pack Run Club. All camps will run in the same format as in the past and meet at the same locations, depending on COVID rental policies.

TFCC will also offer a new competition club for 6th-8th graders, which will focus on training and coaching in the fitness and techniques of the sport as well as a full schedule of meets in the greater Chicago-land area. The club will also compete in the USATF (USA Track and Field) series of state and national qualifiers and will continue to run in the Palatine Community Track meet in mid-July.

TFCC co-owner, Chris Quick said, “We are proud to bring all of the Palatine Park District running programs back this summer under an affiliation with our new, non-profit Palatine Pack organization. There is an affordable running and track option for all members of the family.”

Palatine Pack Community TFCC is committed to promoting fitness, skills and competition in track and field and cross country across all age groups. Their mission values equitable participation for all registrants, instruction in the fundamentals of both sports and, community building, and – best of all – summer fun. Commitment to equitable participation is important to TFCC, no athletes will be turned away due to inability to pay.

Todd Ranum, Athletic Director for Palatine Park District, is excited about this partnership and said, “The running and track programs are a great way to learn and build skills that will last a lifetime.”

No experience is necessary to join any program. Most programs are staffed by current and former Palatine High School track and field and cross country coaches. English as a second language athletes are welcome and encouraged to register. Registration for all summer programs is now open on the palatinepack.com website. All programs start in June.
