Palatine Park District offers a variety of fitness programming each session for ages 14 and up, including personal training, Zumba®, muscle toning, cycling, tai chi, suspension training, yoga, and more.
Country Heat | Ages 14+
A high energy, low impact, country dance-inspired workout that is so much fun you’ll barely notice you’re getting a total-body workout as you work up a sweat. You’ll have a blast stepping in tune to the hottest country hits and quickly forget you’re torching a ton of calories.
Cycling | Ages 14+
Spin focused indoor cycling class for any level set to music simulating flat roads, hills, sprints, and interval training.
Fit Start | Ages 14+
Specifically tailored to either new exercisers, those away from exercise for a long time or those carrying excess weight, Fit Start makes entering the classroom a fun and inviting experience. The class consists of light, low impact cardiovascular exercise, stretching and toning of the upper and lower body.
Pilates | Ages 14+
Lower back pain is frequently caused by lack of abdominal strength, pelvic mobility and lack of exercise for the small, multifidus muscles which stabilize the spine. Pilates will focus on the movement and stabilization of these muscles for everyday functionality, strength improvement and pain reduction.
PiYo® | Ages 14+
PiYo® is a low impact, high-intensity, body transforming fitness format that uses the most effective Pilates and Yoga inspired moves to sculpt long, lean muscles and burn fat. The fluid movements keep you in constant motion to give you a dynamic cardio workout while building strength and increasing flexibility.
Tai Chi QiGong | Ages 14+
Class incorporates gentle flowing movements to reduce stress and improve health. This martial art has been described as “meditation in motion.” Promotes serenity internal health, strength, stress reduction, balance and agility. QiGong is taught as the warm up.
Toning | Ages 14+
Muscle toning will result in better appearance and better functional strength. This progressive workout will divide your muscles into 3 systems: upper body, lower body, and core. Exercising each system for a full 20 minutes with variable speeds, intensities, weights, resistance or isometrics for the maximum benefit.
Fitness Flex Plan
Fitness Flex Plan | Ages 14+
Balance your exercise with the added benefit of class motivation, instructor expertise, and fun and challenging atmosphere. Moderate to intense options are offered within each class. A flex punch or unlimited flex card gives you walk-in access to the following classes:
- Cardio/Aerobic Flex Classes
- Combination Flex Classes
- Strength Flex Classes
Please Note: To take classes from the Prime Flex Plan and the Fitness Flex Plan, the Fitness Flex Plan is valid for both. Separate registration is required for all other classes. There are no refunds for canceled classes. Class offerings and schedule are subject to change. Please pick up and updated schedule when registering.
Prime Flex Plan
Prime Flex Plan | Ages 18+
A flex plan for older adults and those new to exercise. The body responds best to a variety of different movements and approaches to movement. Exercise properly and reward your body with positive change. A Prime Flex Punch Card or Unlimited Flex Card gives you walk-in access to the following classes:

- Prime Agility Training
- Prime Balance & Strength
- Prime Intro to Tai Chi
- Prime Movers Level I
- Prime Movers Level II
- Prime Weights
- Prime Zumba® Gold

Suspension Training (TRX)
Suspension Training (TRX) | Ages 14+
Originally developed in 2004 for US Navy SEALS, Suspension Training works every muscle in the body with varying degrees of body weight. Enhance your balance, coordination, range of join movement, strength, and aerobic fitness. Appropriate for all fitness levels. Small group classes allow for plenty of individual instruction. Shorter class times keep you moving to make each movement better. Suspension training has become an excellent method for building bone and muscle density, particularly in the wrists, lumbar spine, and hips. Classes are progressive in nature as participants become more agile and fit throughout the session.
Yoga | Ages 12+
Palatine Park District offers a variety of yoga classes for every fitness level. Research shows that yoga helps manage or control anxiety, arthritis, back pain, chronic fatigue, depression, headaches, heart disease, and stress.
Special Event Races
Palatine Park District regularly offers two races: Feet Fest, a 3K family walk/run in August, and Turkey Trot, a 2 mile or 5 mile option race in November. For more information about these events and how to register, see below.
