How Do I Register?
Registration for Preschool is available to residents and non-residents and can be completed online or in-person at Birchwood Recreation Center, Community Center, or Falcon Park Recreation Center.
Payment Information
- $50.00 non-refundable, non-transferable processing fee is required with registration.
- A copy of the child’s birth certificate must be given at the time of registration for students new to the Park District preschool. The child cannot be registered without it.
- Preschool payments are made by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). EFT credit card information is due at time of registration.
- Tuition is made in eight monthly payments. Tuition is debited on the 15th of the prior month from September through March.
Priority Registration
Children currently enrolled in Palatine Park District Preschool will have priority registration. Forms will be distributed to currently enrolled families.
Resident Registration
Registration for Preschool 2021-2022 will begin in February 2021 for resident children who are not currently enrolled in preschool program. Preschool registration forms may be obtained at Birchwood Recreation Center, Community Center, or Falcon Park Recreation Center. Registration must be done in person.

Preschool Classes
3 – 4 Years
Three year old preschool is the first school experience for many children. Hands on and developmentally appropriate activities will be offered in pre-reading, pre-writing, math, science, art, and large motor skills. Children will also learn how to be away from their family, make friends, and be a part of a group. In addition, they will learn to work and play cooperatively with other children, make choices, follow simple directions, and become more independent.
There are three staff members for each class.
3½ – 5 Years
Offering the kindergarten readiness skills of math, pre-reading, pre-writing, science, art, and large and small motor skills in an open ended setting. It also encourages curiosity, creativity, self-discipline, independence, cooperative play, and making choices.
Eagle Park offers choices of how many days a child can attend. There are three staff members for each class.
4 – 5 Years
Four year old preschool offers activities and experiences that help children get ready for kindergarten. This includes open ended activities in the areas of math, pre-reading, pre-writing, science, art, and large and small motor skills. Kindergarten readiness also includes following directions, self-help skills, keeping track of belongings, and respecting others. We continue to encourage curiosity, creativity, self-discipline, independence, playing cooperatively, and making choices.
There are three staff members for each class.
Lunch Enrichment
Lunch enrichment offers to further improve on pre-kindergarten skills. Children should bring a peanut-free lunch and a drink. The cost of Enrichment will be paid monthly with tuition. Preschool enrollment not required. Call 847.991.1960 for availability, days, and times.
